Is Herb-All barley organic?   (top)
Yes, the barley grass is grown in organic farmland in Australia certified by USFA which is their equivalent to our BFAD!.

How do you take Herb-All Barley Capsules or Powder Juice Drink?  (top)
It’s best to take it on an empty stomach, either 20 minutes before a meal or 2 hours after so that  the nutrients can be assimilated easily without the presence of other foods. Make sure you use either cold or room temperature liquids, as hot liquid will break down the living enzymes in the barley.

Is it okay to take multi-vitamins with Herb-All?   (top)
Yes, you can continue taking multi-vitamins while taking Herb-All capsules of juice.  Herb-All is a whole food product which is derived from fresh barley grass and will not  interfere with your multivitamins. In fact, the enzymes and phyto-chemicals in Herb-All can assist with the assimilation of multivitamins. Although Herb-All contains all the vitamins and nutrients the body needs  so taking other multi-vitamins could be considered redundant.

Can I overdose on Herb-All?   (top)
No, Herb-All  is a whole food derived from freshly squeezed barley grass. You can’t overdose on it. It is equivalent to eating all the fresh green vegetables required by your body to stay healthy and strong.

Is Herb-All juice powder good for losing weight?    (top)
Yes, Herb-All powder juice drink has only 20 calories per serving and has an abundance of nutrients. If you are in a weight loss program, your body will benefit by taking Herb-All. It provides vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and proteins, minus fat and with practically no calories. It will give you the energy you need to get through the day even though you are dieting.

What does Herb-All Organic barley do for you?    (top)
That is a limiting question… but we would say that it is like drinking the juice from one of the world’s most nutritionally complete plants. It provides you with an abundance of live enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other phytonutrients. Good nutrition  is something we all need.

Your label indicates that most nutrients are in very low quantities; yet you state Herb-All supposedly contains most everything we need. Please explain.    (top)
Herb-All barley is nutritionally diverse. The benefit of taking Herb-All barley is that many of the nutrients our bodies need can be found in it. One must remember that the value of consuming a whole food is in the many nutrients working synergistically, making them much more effective and available. It is the abundance of the different vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, live enzymes, and phyto-nutrients that make Herb-All barley so beneficial.

What are enzymes good for?    (top)
Our bodies use enzymes for everything ranging from digestion to regulating hormone production. Without them our cells would not function properly and we would die. Even though our bodies contain many enzymes, most foods we eat are processed and cooked which renders them virtually devoid of all enzymes. Our bodies can obtain enzymes from raw, fresh vegetables. Herb-All barley is a source of hundreds of live enzymes, which our bodies can readily absorb.

How do you protect the enzymes?   (top)
We protect our enzymes in two ways. First, we make sure that we do not raise the temperature over that of body heat in our processing This prevents the enzymes from being damaged or "denatured." Secondly, Dr. Hagiwara discovered that Maltodextrin, a complex carbohydrate derived from starch, protects the enzymes at a molecular level, preventing them from breaking down and becoming oxidized. The end result is that Herb-All barley has hundreds of active enzymes equivalent to what would be found in fresh barley juice.

Is it safe to consume the Maltodextrin in Herb-All barley if I am diabetic?    (top)
Maltodextrin is a complex carbohydrate, not  a simple sugar. It releases energy slowly and will not raise sugar levels. Herb-All barley does not contain any simple sugars.

Can I use Herb-All barley as a meal replacement?    (top)
Even though Herb-All barley is abundant in nutrients, it is not intended to be a meal replacement. It should be considered a supplement and as part of an overall diet.

Can I take Herb-All barley with other products from your site?    (top)
Absolutely. Many people mix our products together. Some take the barley powdered juice in the morning before breakfast and our barley capsules in the afternoon and evening before dinner.

Why is kelp added to Herb-All barley?    (top)
Herb-All powder juice includes kelp for additional minerals and vitamins. Minerals are necessary cofactors for practically all enzymatic reactions in the body and, while barley grass is rich in minerals, kelp adds even more  trace minerals to ensure an abundant supply of these necessary enzymatic cofactors for optimal metabolism.

What are the benefits of kelp?    (top)
There is an anecdote that around 2200 years ago in the Chin Dynasty Era of China, the Emperor Shin-Huang-Ti, who compiled the basis of Chinese Traditional Medicine, ordered his own envoy to look for medicinal elixirs in Japan. His envoy found and returned with a medicinal elixir that we know today as kelp. The Japanese have been eating kelp in their daily diet for many generations but it wasn’t until recently that they have shared the secret of its health benefits to the rest of the world.

Kelp is a type of algae that contains abundant vitamins (A,B,C, etc.) and minerals (iodine, iron, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, copper, etc.). Since Japan is filled with volcanic ashes, and the vegetables grown on such  land generally lack minerals, the Japanese found that they had to utilize ocean algae in order to stay healthy. Kelp has also been  found  to be beneficial for brain and spinal cord functions, and for blood circulation. Also, due to its iodine content, it may help to normalize thyroid function.

Is maltodextrin bad?    (top)
No, actually it is the maltodextrin that makes our product so special. Dr. Hagiwara selected it after years of research because he discovered that he was able to protect enzymes at the molecular level by adding maltodextrin to the barley juice. In addition ,it isn’t a simple sugar or filler but a complex carbohydrate that has a slow energy release, making it ideal for people who are concerned with elevating their blood sugar levels.

Herb-All barley makes me feel so energetic. Does it contain any caffeine?  (top)
No, Herb-All barley juice and capsules are made from barley powder extract and contains no caffeine. Numerous customers have given us testimonies of increased energy. Herb-All barley  is very nutritious and provides your body with raw materials that can be converted into energy naturally - unlike caffeine which simply gives one a temporary energy high.

How much sugar is in Herb-All Organic barley?    (top)
Herb-All barley does not contain any simple sugars or sweeteners.

Is Herb-All barley okay to take at the same time as my maintenance medications and other multivitamins?    (top)
Yes, Herb-All will not hinder the absorption of the multivitamins or other medications you might be taking. In fact, many nutrients are known to work together synergistically; nutrients utilized in conjunction with one another may have a more beneficial effect than if taken in isolated.

Is there a difference between herb-All barley capsules and Herb-all barley powder juice drink?    (top)
Both are identical except that because the powder form is instantly soluble, it will be assimilated more rapidly than the tablets and some digestion of the soluble powder may occur in the mouth and esophagus as well.

How long does Herb-All barley retain its potency?    (top)
Herb-All Organic Barley, like all our  other products, have  a shelf life of 3 years.

Will I have an allergic reaction to Herb-All Organic barley?    (top)

Will Herb-All barley stay fresh after opening?    (top)
Yes. The maltodextrin acts as a protective carrier to keep the barley from oxidizing or spoiling, which preserves the integrity of these elements until dissolved and released in liquid.

Why is Herb-All barley so green?    (top)
The "green" is from chlorophyll. Barley grass has one of the highest, natural, rich chlorophyll contents of all the green vegetables. In fact, Barley Grass has 66 times more chlorophyll than spinach. This acts as a natural blood cleanser, thus removing all bad odors from the body such as bad breath, under arm odor, foot odors or the such.

How many calories are there in a Herb-All barley capsule?    (top)
Herb-All barley capsules have 2 calories per capsule.

What are antioxidants? What do they do?    (top)
Antioxidants are properties in certain nutrients which have been proven by research to help defend against "free radicals." Free radicals are unstable molecules which may cause chemical reactions thought to be responsible for damaging cells, thus causing them to function improperly. The results of these malfunctions are diseases such as cancer, arthritis, heart disease, and many others. Antioxidants neutralize these free radicals and help preserve our body’s cells by keeping them healthy.

If I take Herb-All barley, should I also take other supplements?    (top)
You can if you want to but Herb-All Organic barley provides all the whole food goodness your body already needs provided you accompany them with eating nutritious meals. Each individual should consider his or her own body and its needs individually and supplement accordingly.

Can I use Herb-All barley as a prenatal supplement?    (top)
Yes, Herb-All barley provides  a rich balance of all the nutrients that it is equivalent to a whole salad of dark green vegetables. Forty-five percent of its weight is in polypeptide (lightweight) proteins. It is excellent for you and your unborn baby.

Where should I store my Herb-All Organic Barley?    (top)
As Herb-All Organic barley should be kept away from moisture and sunlight, it should be stored in its own jar in your cupboard with the lid fastened securely. We do not recommend storing Herb-All Organic barley in the refrigerator where condensation could cause nutrients to oxidize and break down.

Will Herb-All barley upset my stomach?    (top)
No, Herb-All barley is mildly alkaline and its pH balances out the acidic stomach juices. This can therefore aid in settling the stomach.

What does the chlorophyll do?    (top)
The chlorophyll content of Herb-All barley is a natural detoxifier and rids the intestines of stored toxins. Because it is a natural detoxifier, it also aids in reducing other body odors.

Is there a difference in the chlorophyll you buy as a supplement versus chlorophyll you obtain from natural sources like Herb-all barley?    (top)
Yes, It is impossible to isolate naturally occurring chlorophyll. Therefore, those supplements containing chlorophyll are not in the same form as the ones found in live plants. Herb-All barley is an excellent way to obtain chlorophyll in its natural state.

Can I use Herb-All Organic Powder Juice drink for fasting?    (top)
Yes, Herb-All powder juice drink is the perfect "food" for fasting. The protein content and complex carbohydrates in it provide the body with the stamina and energy it needs to keep the system healthy through your fast.

What does a detoxifier do and how might this affect me?    (top)
A detoxifier "leaches" the toxins or poisons that have been stored within the body by releasing  them into the fluid stores of the body (blood, urine, perspiration, etc.). When detoxifying, you should drink plenty of water to dilute the released toxins for elimination. You may experience gas bubbles, skin rash, itchiness, and muscle tightness, which are all signs of poisons existing and exiting the body. After one to two weeks, the system should be able to adjust and be cleansed and the skin and internal body should look and feel normal and great!

Can I make up a large amount of Herb-All Barley Juice and keep it in the refrigerator?    (top)
No, Live nutrients are released when Herb-All barley powder juice  is mixed with the proper liquids and should be taken no more than 20 minutes after preparation. When live nutrients are no longer protected either by fiber or by maltodextrin, they will begin to oxidize and "die." Herb-All barley powdered juice drink should be taken immediately after preparation in order to receive the maximum amount of nutritional benefits.

Will taking Herb-All barley after or with meals hinder its effectiveness?    (top)
You can drink Herb-All barley anytime, but we suggest you take it alone so that your body can assimilate the full benefits of its properties quickly and easily without other foods being present to slow this process.

Is the barley organically grown?    (top)
Yes, we grow our barley without any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We are certified organic and we reuse all water and vegetable residue as natural mulch for our fields.

What are the Hot and Cold Water tests?   (top)
These two simple tests indicate if a product contains fiber (Cold Water Test) and viable proteins (Hot Water Test). The Cold Water Test: Place one-half teaspoon of either Herb-All barley or a competitor’s product in a glass of cold water and stir. Observe after a few minutes. PBC will remain dissolved and the water will appear uniform while a competitor’s product containing fiber or insoluble substances will have settled at the bottom of the glass. The Hot Water Test: Sprinkle one-half teaspoon of either Herb-All barley or a competitor’s product into a glass of very hot water and stir gently for a couple of seconds. Herb-All barley will clump up because the shapes of the living enzymes are being changed by heat for the first time, whereas the competitor’s product will disperse and not clump up because the enzymes have already been "denatured" by heat and do not change shape when heated again.

If I take other supplements along with Herb-All Organic Barley, will I overdose on vitamins?
No, Herb-All barley is a whole food extract and as such, it is compatible with any supplements you are taking. Generally, whole foods do not contain excessive amounts of any particular nutrient. However, individuals should consider their needs for supplements accordingly.

Will Herb-All powder juice stays fresh after opening?    (top)
The maltodextrin is added to live nutrients as a protective carrier to keep them from oxidizing or spoiling, which preserves the integrity of these elements until they are dissolved in liquid.

Will Herb-All barley cause diarrhea or constipation?    (top)
Herb-All barley will help rebuild healthy intestinal flora and therefore may have a positive effect on regularity and gas. Herb-All barley has traditionally been used to promote regularity and does not cause constipation.

Does Herb-All barley contain digestive enzymes?    (top)
Yes, Herb-All barley contains many enzymes including digestive enzymes such as amylase.

Do you rotate your fields?    (top)
Yes, generally after 1-2 years. Green beans are grown in the fields during the summer to add nitrogen to the soil.

Is Herb-All barley okay to take if I have kidney problems?    (top)
